METHODOLOGY

Calculation methodology

Calculations run locally in your browser. Measurements are normalized before geometry is calculated, and purchase quantities are rounded only after the relevant compaction, lap, settlement, waste, or package rule is applied.

Core conventions

  • One cubic yard equals 27 cubic feet.
  • One U.S. short ton equals 2,000 pounds.
  • Rectangular volume uses length × width × depth.
  • Cylindrical volume uses π × radius² × height.
  • Sloped roof area uses a pitch multiplier derived from rise over 12.

Validation pass

On September 15, 2026, all 188 tools were mapped to the closest public workflows from BuildCalc Pro, YardsCalculator, YardLoad, and CoverMyYard. Identified differences were corrected and preserved as regression tests.

Supplier data wins

Replace default density, coverage, bag yield, actual or nominal size, package quantity, compaction, waste, and price with the exact product specification before ordering.
