Excavated volume is not automatically equal to reusable backfill because structures, imported material, compaction, and unsuitable soils change the balance.
Build a separate backfill takeoff when the project requires it.
Calculate haul loads from loose volume
Divide loose volume by practical truck capacity only after swell is applied.
Payload weight can govern before volumetric capacity for dense materials.
Verify disposal and site assumptions
Disposal acceptance, contaminated material, groundwater, shoring, slopes, and access can affect operations without changing basic geometry.
