Measure repair area
Break irregular patches into simple shapes and combine their areas.
Exclude sound areas that will not receive the topping or bed material.
Use average thickness carefully
Tapered or uneven repairs can vary substantially in depth.
Segment the work by thickness when one average would hide a large volume difference.
Calculate net volume
Convert thickness to feet and multiply by square feet to obtain cubic feet.
Keep geometric volume separate from waste and surface-profile allowances.
Use product yield
Convert cubic feet to bags using the current data sheet for the exact package size.
Do not infer mixed yield from bag weight alone.
Check application limits
A correct quantity does not make a product suitable for every thickness or substrate.
Follow surface preparation, bonding, placement, finishing, and curing instructions for the selected material.
